FH580V-BS37- Choke Link Rod

Re-installing carb and choke link rod fell off. I cannot figure out how to re- attach. I know how and where it goes on carb, but how does it attach to the control panel. It is close to the final steps of a total rebuild and I am stumped. The pics seem to show it hooking behind the control panel. Any tips would be appreciated.
