Engine GT1554 Engine Replacement

So, my wife mowed at the end of the season. She called me and said "The mower is broken."

The engine had seized.

What I would like to do is remove the deck and replace the engine with one
of the 6.5HP Chinese clones. The 6.5HP will strictly be used for powering the
hydrostatic drive.

I know it will be slower, but will it have enough power to drive around on flat ground pulling a garden cart?
