I just got an old troy bilt tiller model TH 1002. I think it is mid to late 70's with a cast iron Tecumseh 6 hp. engine. When I was trying to do some tilling, I had
to hold down on the long lever that engages the tines or it would keep popping up and the tines would stop turning. I adjusted the tension block down to make
the belts tighter but it still wouldn't stay engaged. Does anyone know how to get the old belts off if they need changed? It looks like the engine might need to be removed to get the belts off. Or can you take off the reverse disc and pull the out the back? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
