Is this a decent buy?

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am looking to getting into professional lawn care but don't know much about commercial machines.

I saw this post and wondered if it looks like a decent buy. Are the problems described something that I could service or have
serviced for decent price or does this sound like an engine replacement?

Is this a suitable mower for small scale residential lawn care.

I would not waste my time or money, on buying and repairing someone else's problem. Even if it were for a reduced price of $500. In my opinion, walk no run away.

As the ad says price reflects engine concerns. Could be a good buy for mechanically inclined. If I were interested I'd see if they would let me get the mower checked out and see what the problem actually is our if a new engine is necessary. Answer to your second question, is it suitable for residential lawncare? IMO NO unless your mowing lots of property's where you have two or three acres, a 61 inch is to big for residential lawns IMO. The ideal size for residential work is going to be a 36" or 48" cut. Easier to maneuver (greater productivity with a smaller mower) you'll end up with less trimming.
