Sure hoping your wife's relatives found safe haven, at this time, ( thur. Sept. 7, 9:00 A.M. advisory saying storm headed at Turks & Caicos with phenominal surge tides expected, we will be staying in Leesburg, Fl. with family, but it appears NOWHERE in the state will be safe. Guess you can follow on the weather channel or maybe facebook, we expect to lose power,..communications for at least several days we will be leaving by Fri. evening,

I can imagine that you are getting desperate, but did you ever see the movie "Fargo"? (I've got a shipmate who actually lives there and I have visited him there.) I still can't understand why he lives there. He says when he retires he's headed out to Washington or Oregon.

Should hear about Turks either late tonite or tomorrow ... its there NOW, (2:15 P.M. Thursday ) We're about 80% packed up, got everything outside dragged in, Unfortunately we don't have window & door coverings, ( mobile-home ) we hope it's still here when we get back... only comfort is we have Home-Owners, but I might be better off using the policy for arse-wipe, these Ins. Co. gonna cry poor-mouth from now till doomsday ! we can slow down a little now and do our final walk-arounds go over our check lists and then rest up for our departure ( about a 45 min ride .. ( on a NORMAL day ) If I hear anything about the Turks I'll post it for ya ... later ...Boo

James , sorry for the mis-information, about storm being on Turks at 2:15, seems they were saying some of the OUTER bands were there, but now it looks like it will be on top of it around 8:00 tonite, so much schitt flying around on these reports its an overload of some hype.

Looks like it will hit the Turks with full force. It may take some time to find out if the folks are ok with no communication.

Hurricane "Irma"

James, I certainly hope your wife's family will be alright. From what information I can find it seems 'Irma's' eye grazed the Turks and Caicos after destroying much of Barbuda and St Martin. It doesn't seem as though we can get much in the way of news out of that area. We'll all keep our fingers crossed.

Boo-Boo,

Will you have internet connectivity as long as you have power in Leesburg? Email me when you get a chance and once you are set up in hopeful safety!! Good luck buddy! All our Florida friends are in our thoughts..

We haven't heard anything this morning. Last information we had they were going to a hotel for shelter. Just got a report our family members are ok. I dont know if they have damage at the home they live in. I found some pic it looks bad.turks 1.jpgturks 2.jpgturks 3.jpg

OK you guys, we are in sister in laws house, located n Leesburg, Fl. ( Lake County) North of Orlando, South of Ocala HOPEFULLY safe . Don't know when we will lose power will try to update when brother in law isn't watchin porn...( LOL ) ..:laughing: :laughing:
