Darn near impossible to NOT like Truex Jr.

Anyway, today was our 39th wedding anniversary.
We have dubbed the 39th as the "Fast Food and Appliance" anniversary.
So we're celebrating tomorrow with a burger and beer at Mugshots and buying a new small fridge at Lowe's
to supplement our kitchen fridge, as we are having a load of family for Turkey.( and we gotta keep the beer cold!)
Then the new mini fridge will make it into my (soon to be) new office in the upper shop.

Back in our St. Pete days there was a restaurant called the Koala Republic.
Their feature burger was called the "Mick Dundee Burger."
It was 1lb of ground beef on a large sourdough bun, and was topped with a fried egg,
bacon, red beets, all normal toppings, and some other stuff I can't remember.
Came with about a pound of fries. It cost $11.00 and, if you could eat it all,
you got a free one on any ensuing visit.
I never failed, and actually won a "Dundee Burger eating contest" twice.
$100.00 the first time, then $50.00 the second (in coupons, of course.)But, I was much younger then....
Pretty good stuff.......

Simplex derailleurs came out in 1938, and the Campy Gran Sport in 1949. Both were before my time.
Suntour developed the slant parallelogram rear derailleur in 1964.
I would be 11 to begin that year, and 12 by its end................

Most of mine are Shimano geared.

Another fact to shove up the little grey matter, thanks indeed.
Never saw a derailleur gear set up on a bike till the 70's down here, so assumed they were a late 60's invention but I suppose we had them.
Some of the upper class kids had bikes with 3 speed hub gears but that is all remember.
I gather the simplex ones were the bikes with a single sprocket on the front an 4-5-6 on the wheel ?
By 1964 I was 16 & had been illegally riding motorcycles for 2 years.
One of the advantages of having an early adolesent growth spurt was you could get away with stuff like that then.

Congratulations that is a good innings now days.

When we had the courier business one of the foodies ave me some excellent advice.
She told me never to buy a combined fridge & freezer as a fridge wors best with moist air & a freezer needs dry air.
The other bit of info was to get a small all fridge for the things you user regularly , cold water, beer, butter, milk etc etc and keep the main fridge for fruit & veggies, prepared foods & leftovers.
Been doing that for 30 years now and boy did it make a difference to both how long stuff stayed fresh in my fridge & the power bills
