Is the Muffler/Exhaust supposed to be welded to the exhaust pipe or is it just supposed to be inserted and be able to move around. The exhaust pipe on my LT1045 has become disconnected from the exhaust/Muffler and I just need to know if I should just replace or attempt to repair. If I replace I would imagine I would need the entire assembly, Pipe and Muffler welded together. Any thoughts would be much appreciated as well as a good supplier for the parts.

post your model number as there are several listed: 13xxxxxxxxx, or you can remove muffler & take to local muffler shop to be welded. by googling correct "Cub Cadet muffler part number" you can locate best price if you so choose.

Had a guy who works at the shop next door weld it back together....Looks sturdy, we'll see. I went on line (ereplacementparts.com) and purchased 4 replacement exhaust gaskets to replace the ones that were on the engine side. Thanks for the input.
