I have a 28" Series 23 Snapper rear engine rider, model 2812523BVE. The differential has two black plugs. With the mower standing on its rear bumper, one of the plugs is below the rear axle and one is above. To top off the lube, which one do I fill to? Thanks.

remove top plug & fill till grease appears

Top plug? Wow, that must be around two quarts of grease! I downloaded the parts manual and it shows 24 oz. required.

You fill it to the level of the bottom hole. It's just much easier to fill through the top hole.
