Hello, I just bought a 2016 Ferris is600v 48" deck with a Kawasaki 18.5 engine. I sold my John Deere LT190 which served me well for 10 years. This is my first zero turn and I am still learning how to steer it without tearing up anything. I have mowed once with it and think I am gonna love it. I am a retired firefighter of 25 years and have about an acre to mow. The only thing I don't like about the mower is the solid ROPS. The dealer wants $200 for a folding one.

Hold one controller in your off hand and use it excluseivly for speed control.
Use your natural hand to do all the steering.
Like riding a bike, look at where you want to go and do not actively think about steering.
After a few mows the muscle memory will kick in ans you will be steering two hands.
