What is that green stuff landscaping outfits use to cover up newly-planted grass seed? As opposed to the old-fasioned way of straw? You know - to keep the birds from eating the seed.

How do you use it, and how can we common folk get our hands on it?

It is Hydromulch...
a planting process which utilizes a slurry of seed and mulch, usually sprayed on with rather specialized equipment...
The mulch is made from various materials from a paper mache to a processed wood pulp the green is a dye added to give color, helping to show where and how thick it is applied... You could make your own, or buy it but you would also need the bulk tanks to handle and keep it mixed and the sprayers to apply it ... :smile:KennyV
