• May 30, 2016 / JD LT 160 Brake Release results in engine shutdown.

My LT160 engine shutdown unexpectedly while mowing. It appears that when the brake is engaged, the engine runs fine, however when the break is disengaged, the engine shuts down. Thoughts?

The brake switch and the seat switch are connected so if you fall out of the seat the mower shuts down.
So either the seat switch is fauty or the wiring between the seat switch and the brake switch.
