gas gauge replacement

Simple problem . . . I need to replace the gas gauge on the plastic tank on my Grasshopper . . . It appears be simply be pressed fit into the plastic tank . . . but before I started prying away at it, I thought I ask if anyone here has experience with this.

The gauges are press fit, as you thought. They have a rubber collar or sleeve that fits around the gauge and provides a marginal seal when assembled. Mine always leak a little when the tank is full or when mowing hills, and the fuel is sloshing around.
