easy way to hook up mower deck?

Hello everyone, I have a John Deere 425 and it was given to me. I have a 54" mower deck that came with it, what and how is the easiest way to get that all hooked up underneath? It has a pto drive shaft and no belts. The number on the deck is M054HDA084235 I don't know if that will help or not but it can't hurt. This garden tractor came with no manuals at all. I think it was made in 1997 if that helps?

Do a google search for "service 48 & 54 inch mower deck" and you should find a step by step guide. At this time I can't post the exact site due to a problem with the forum. Give it a try and post back.

I don't know why a John Deere dealer wouldn't give you some pointers? I know my local JD dealer is very good about answering any questions I ask them. They may even have a unit you can look at.
