I like having snakes around although down under I know they are considerably more poisonous on average.

Just a matter of knowing the enemy.
Most will run off and if you don't stand between them & the exit you are fine.
The exception is the Brown & Tigers around here.
However they both feed mainly on hot blooded animals .
Blacks feed on reptiles & other snakes so you make conditions around the house comfortabe for blacks and let them take care of the others, easy really.
