Replace old CMM1200 24-Volt battery with 12-Volt battery??

Replacement battery information seems to indicate that we buy one 12-Volt battery.
Or do we buy TWO 12-volt batteries and connect them in series for the 24-Volt CMM1200?

    Any suggestion for batteries?

    Thank you.

.... the latter, assuming the former is a typo.
    Detail

    I found this description helpfull.

To that I would add... given the advances in Li (lithium iron) supplies
it maybe worth yer while to investigate a conversion to Li - requires new
charger. Li should return faster recharge times, less weight and spare
room in the battery box. I would try and stay with the original AmpHour
ratings or greater, new size being a factor that may allow that.
Whatever... "11 years" is avery long service for a gellcell Panasonic, he got
    lucky methinks.

    Trust that helps some.

    Thank you, KK.

On the wheel height adjustment plate, I cut the end of the plate even with the teeth to allow the height to be raised one more increment.
Wish that I could make it even higher for our backyard grass.

Re: Replace old CMM1200 24-Volt battery Walmart EverStart batteries. $20 each.

Removing the styrofoam spacers, these two lead-acid batteries fit in the CCM1200.

I need to buy screws and nuts to attach the mower's two wires and jumper to the batteries.

But will the 230 Cold Cranking Amps capacity draw of these two batteries damage the charger?

    Nope.
Using wetcell tho' you might want to look at a cradle or holdown of some means, and make sure
if they vent/boil on charge the gases can escape without any carryover corroding your chassis, long term.

Re: $20 Walmart EverStart batteries work! (How long?)

    Thank you, KK.
    You are correct!
The Walmart EverStart batteries work! CMM1200 runs like new!
    The charger
RED light is now GREEN and charger now cool to the touch!

Is there a conversion from CCA to Amp Hours? Some batteries list "CCA" and others "Ah".

    Would four of these be.tter?

But they did not have any at our Walmart.
    Thank you.

    .... a fine outcome..! :-)

Is there a conversion from CCA to Amp Hours? Some batteries list "CCA" and others "Ah".
There is from some "battery shops"... those that tell you what they believe you want to hear.
    However...
Essentially, CCA is "cold cranking amps", the amount of max electrical current draw required to spin
an engine fast enough through it's cycles to generate a spark from a magneto, if we are
talking mowers. Diesels it's enough to get firing compression happenng, jet engines it's enough to
get suck happening. So... 60CCA for a mower, 440CCA for a midsize diesel and maybe 2000CCA
    for a small jet.
So, if you like it... is the "horsepower" of a STARTING battery.

Now, "Ah" is the representation of electrical storage, the amount of DC electricty available
over time. 4.5Ah will deliver 4.5Amps per hour until the battery voltage drops below usefull,
around 11.9 VDC, the lights dim or your computer dies (standby).
So "Ah" in plain speak is electrical energy available.

As it stands "Ah" is a calculation of load and usage and it is therefore not honest to mix it
with CCA in selecting a STARTING battery. In actual fact both use a different style of battery
build, in wet cell configs. Generally, Starting batteries are more robust, whereas Energy batteries
    use higher quality componentry.

    Clearer on that area?

Just as well, they are energy batteries and well below any useful Amphours beyond backip
for a landscape lighting system , maybe.

    Thank you.

... yer very welcome. Happy to hear it worked out for you :-)
