Hey I have a poulan chainsaw and have basically put all new parts in. However the fuel filter I have not, and the spark arrestor. I removed the muffler and and still will not crank so I'm left thinking it's the fuel filter. It cranks every once in awhile but when I go to give it throttle it cuts off is this a fuel filter issue or something else I'm missing?

Check for cracked/rotting fuel lines, and then go through the carb correctly.

Thanks for the reply. I put all new fuel lines in and cleaned the carb. Does it sound like a fuel filter issue?

Put up the model number and exactly what you did while in the carb {details}.

The model is 1950. I went through the carb wiped it down. Cleaned the jets and openings with a wire and put carb cleaner in it and reappeared that process.

You likely need to pull the carb off again. Let me know if you are willing.

Well to be more precise, you will need to find the black sticker on the handle, so I know which "type" you have. Should be 1-5, or I-V...
