I have a self- powered Troy Bilt 22" walk behind.
It starts and runs okay, and propels itself , but the blade spins too slow to mow the grass. What should I check for. If it is a shaft problem, I suspect it might be too expensive to fix. any ideas?

I suspect this is a belt driven blade.... ?
Check id the belt is loose or a problem with the blade engagement mechanism... :smile:KennyV

Thanks, Kenny.
I believe the latter is perhaps the problem, and I may have made some headway. I checked and found a failed bushing between the blade support and the blade itself. Not sure that is the only problem, but it gives me a place to start.
