My 2010 Cub Cadet LTX 1040 runs fine on flat ground. But it slows to a crawl going up hills. Is there some kind of adjustment that takes care of this issue? The belts are fairly new. I do have grease/oil leaking out of the axle seals. Is this a separate issue or part of the problem?

Thanks,
Warren Morrissette

Sounds like belt needs tightened but if axles are leaking rear end mite have no oil and could be something internal.

Have had similar issue with the slow-going up hills. Do you have the hydro-static? Sounds like, just a guess right off the bat, that it could be your belt slipping? Especially after some use, it gets hot and stretches a little and doesn't work efficiently as it should...

Try to adjust or replace the belt.
