jd 130 rider coil interchange

I have a older jd model 130 with the fc290v Kawasaki engine which needs an ignition coil is there any other type of coil that will swap with the stock one like a b&s or techumseh?

I have never tried to interchange a ignition module. I would think the timing would be different? Unless I had a free one to try I wouldn't want to spend money to experiment. I know Kawasaki parts can be pricey but buy the right coil.
