  • / grasshopper 928d2 72 inch deck how to replace electric pto clutch
i have the pto clutch off but need to know how to put the new one on.
do i need to take the clutch stub shaft off and then put the new clutch
on it and then place on the flywheel or do i have to raise the engine up
to get enough clearance?

According to the manual

Remove clutch shield.
Remove clutch bracket.
Loosen spring tension on drive belt idler pulley and remove drive belts
Unplug wires from clutch and remove center bolt. Slide clutch back, then remove the five hex socket head bolts to remove clutch and stud shaft together.
Remove clutch from stub shaft.
Reverse order to install new clutch.

That's how we did ours AND we were told to put a heaver fuse in also,the new clutch draws more amps!!!!

it is tight,but I did not have to raise the engine
