le 425 steering valve

the steering valve on my jd 425 mower is leaking. would like to replace the line seals and valve seals but manual is pretty vague about how to go about doing it. has anyone replaced these seals before? if so can you give me some tips on removal of valve and removing lines and replacing seals and springs.
