I've inherited a snapper model 17242 snow thrower which is in great shape except for one thing. The auger shaft snapped. My bro-in-law had repaired this part before giving it to me. The problem is, in the parts manual it showes part # 29 a spacer to be used unless you have blower model 17222 then you need part # 29-a and I'm thinking thats the part I need but not sure because of the different model #'s. My serial # is 16428647. Are there any snapper techs that can help. Btw nice site for us small-time garage mechanics.
