Hi guys. New member here and I come to you with a small problem:confused:. The other day I was mowing my grass and the bracket that connects the left part of the handle snapped. I called the MTD parts number and the person on the phone was no help without a model or serial number. She explained to me where I could find this and I told her the numbers had been rubbed of due to wear. Does anyone know what year or model this is? It is a walk-behind, self propelled mower. My best guess is that it is around 10-15 years old. It runs very well and has been taken care of. The bracket looks easy to replace, I just can't find the correct model number to order the bracket. I snapped a few pictures of the mower and attached them. Thanks for all the help in advance. Take care!

Could you please post the model, type, and code off the engine. It will narrow down year considerably, unless the engine has been replaced with a newer engine.

Thanks for the reply ILENGINE. Sorry for the late response. I am in the military working night shift and I've been working like crazy this week.

I looked all over the engine and came up with several numbers. They are listed below.

D01172AC- TOP CASE OF ENGINE
D01936AC- TOP FRONT CASE
69000T- ENGINE LEFT
VBS190U1G1RB:EM- ENGINE RIGHT

This is all I could find without knowing exactly what I am looking for or where to look. Is there anywhere in particular they usually put the engine model #?

Thanks in advance and take care!

The engine information may by on a metal tag on top of the blower housing, or stamped into the blower housing above the spark plug, or on the valve cover if overhead valve. It will actually say Model type code May also be stamped into the metal flange over the top of the muffler.
