I recently had a problem with an LX277 not running. You could take the air filter cover off and the filter and squirt fuel into the carb and it would only until that fuel was gone. So I replaced the fuel pump (checked and it was pumping fuel) and that didn't do it. Then my grandfather has a friend who does small engine work. He was baffled. He took the carb off and boiled it out. Then took it apart and checked it. Finally he found that the solenoid on the bottom of the carb was stuck up in the closed position. So he took it off and cut the stopper plug off. It runs great and is a cheap fix. Only thing is that the John Deere place that the solenoid helps to kill the motor and it might backfire when trying to kill it. Please reply if you have this problem and this fix worked.

This is only a suggestion. DO NOT do it if you are not comfortable or qualified enough to do so.
