I can turn the key to "start" and it will turn-over, but will not run. The fuel pump is brand new and I already checked to see that it was working. If I squirt fuel directly into the carburetor/manifold it will run until that is used up or you squirt more in. What is problem? The carb has been taken apart and boiled out well, but it still wont run. if you take the bowl off or loosen the drain plug there is fuel. It's with a friend right now who works on small engines and stuff, but it has "blown his mind". It's a Kawasaki FH500V engine on a JD LX277 mower. Please help if you can. Thanks!

Thanks for the help! I believe you know what you are talking about because the "old grease monkeys" sometimes know more. I appreciate your opinion, but the friend that is was with found out that the solenoid on the bottom of the carb was stuck shut; so he cut off the stopper. Now that I know what it is I can replace the solenoid if I decide to. Thanks though!!

P.S. Now you know what might be the problem on another one.
