Last year we planted some ornamental grasses and young shrubs. It looks like when the ground froze, it pushed some of the plants out of the ground a bit and some of the roots are showing. What is the best way to deal with this?

You can sprinkle dirt sand mix over the roots to raise the ground level... Or dig them up and replant ...
I would just add dirt sand and compost ... :smile:KennyV

That's the result of "frost heave". When the soil goes from warm to very cold, the soil layer gets shifted around a bit sometimes. You don't want to leave those roots exposed!
