Hi. I am new to the forum, but have a serious question about the electric PTO clutch on my Dad's Cub Cadet 1045. The wire harness going into the clutch has rubbed & broken off too close to the clutch to be able to splice a new wire. It is a Werner Electric # 521979. Is there any other way to repair other than replacing the whole clutch & pulley assembly?

Hello & WELCOME to these Forums...

There will be a plastic block at the end of the wires at the clutch, You may be able to carve enough of it away to solder new leads to that clutch... It is where Werner attached their leads to the coil winding. Be careful and you should be able to do it...
Otherwise its a major job to replace only the coil.
Replacing the complete assembly will set you back around $150 +(that clutch is used in a lot of CubCadet & MTD models)... so I would take the shot at attaching new leads... :smile:KennyV
