Is there anywhere I can go to get specs on engines and their parts. I am looking for like line drawings with part sizes and such. Briggs motors.

It would make it a lot easier to figure out what I need if I could see some dimensions.

I am going to guess from your other post that you do not need to find parts and pieces at this point...
Your looking for a complete engine right..?

or are you wanting the interchangeability within the Briggs line? :smile:KennyV

Looking for a complete engine that is compatible.

Lots of the ones I am finding don't give a very good description of shaft sizes and such.

Never easy changing engines of different brands but you need to make a template of the base of your original engine and chrck the height of the shaft to match your old engine.
Plan ahead and it will save you a lot of heart ache.

That is what I am trying to do.

The John Deere engine is a Briggs engine with JD badges.

JD has a strange charging system so I will have to swap it out. Everything else is the same (fuel system, exhaust ports, ect). The only thing different so far is the shaft length. Having a hard time finding a used engine with the long shaft (3.19" I think).
