Hoping to get some advice. I have a 2007 husqvarna mower 2042LS. It's making a grinding noise when I lift my foot off the break. The noise seems to be coming from the back. Not seeing any noticeable loss of power, no leaks. Any help would be appreciated

one of the clutch pulleys has a bad bearing if it does this when not moving
If only happens when you move then there is a problem with the brake

Thank you bertsmobile1 I'll check that. I should have mentioned also that even when the deck is removed the mower sounds normal and quiet while the break/clutch is pressed down but when released a louder grinding noise starts. Thanks again for the quick reply!

Hi Ever-body, it's been a long time. I don't remember the last post I made but I am a loyal Husqvarna fan since 2003 when I bought my first piece, a Rider 155. I used it yesterday! I ran over a piece of rug as I was putting it in the garage (I forgot I had the blades running!) I should be ashamed of myself; I have beat-the-stuffing out of this baby and she just won't die! I bought a YTH24V48LS ten years ago so I could bag the grass, it, too is a fantastic performer. I've had edgers & trimmers and two leaf blowers. I buy nothing but HUSQVARNA! I'd buy another Rider 155 if I could find one.1891.jpg
