I have a Woods 2855 ZTM powered by a Kohler M18 engine, the no load speed is supposed to be set to 3600 rpm and it is only turning 3040 rpm. When I got the mower, the governor linkage was actually disassembled. I set the linkage up as per the manual and the engine runs great and the governor seems to work correctly but I would like to get the engine rpm up to spec.
The linkage on the carb goes to the full open position (on the stop) when the engine isn't running but the governor pulls the rpm down (off the stop) once the throttle is increased to the max speed.
What do I need to do to increase the no load speed of the engine?
