I just bought a walk behind mower with a Peerless 700-708 series transmission.
All gears except for Neutral shift and pull normally, (no grinding no slipping)
I just can't find Neutral at all!

Can anyone help me remedy this ?
If any further info is needed please just let me know, I need to get this fixed ASAP.. so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

I work on this series a lot. You can "NOT" always depend on the shift lever for the neutral position. Does your xmission have a reverse? Try searching between gears (usually between Reverse and 1rst, or 1rst & 2nd) and see if you can find a detent where neutral is.
If you don't feel "any" detents, check your neutral sensor. This sensor is the 7/8 or 15/16 hex with 2 screw terminals on it right next to the shifting fork shaft on the top of this trans. If you remove it, you will see what looks like a ball brg that is spring loaded. This spring loaded ball mates (inside the trans) to small holes in the shifting fork causing the detent.
