    D430 Meltdown.

Yesterday my prized 2 dollar model 3054 mower seemed like it running lean and within minutes of starting began bogging down so I shut it off. When it cooled it had no compression so I removed the cylinder to find it had massive scoring at the exhaust port. I recently had the mower on its side to...

Recoil start rope slooow to recoil

Got the old brick top (model 3054) started today to mow up the last of the white oak leaves. The rope is very slow to recoil even in warm weather. Do the spring in these engines (D430) lose their mojo over time? I'm sure I cleaned the spring assembly when I replaced the crank seals 6 months ago.

ID the year of this 2 dollar brick top.

2 bucks at a garage sale. Runs great and been my go to mower for a year now. I need to procure the gasket between the exhaust and lower deck plate. D430 engine Serial #4607889. Plastic gas tank. A ink to a parts list would be appreciated. Thx.
