The owner's manual says to start with 2 qts. I put in a little over11/2 qts. and it is right at the maximum. Glad I checked before I added any more. I checked it in my garage so I know the surface is level. What is the capacity of an X500? Walt.

After about an hour mowing the engine suddenly dies. It will restart but die again then not restart until the engine cools. One guy at the dealer thought it was ignition solenoid, but the other said it has 2 solenoids so would run rough before it dies, he guessed the fuel solenoid plunger...

I have 10 blades to sharpen. I usually use a really coarse file followed by finer files. I have thought of getting a belt sander primarily to sharpen mower blades, but also axes, hoes, etc. How many sharpen their blades with a belt sander? What size belt? Walt

My X500 is getting some years on her and thinking about moving to a Simplicity. We do a lot of the mowing with a ZTR, but use the JD for snow removal and pulling a cart. Must be able to get a weather shield/snow cab. Suggestions? Jerry
