Looking for advice re: purchasing a reliable lawn tractor

Take a good look at a zero turn. Once you cut with one you'll never go back to the old yard slug. (I run a Hustler w/Kohler)

Are mulching blades about the same?

Look at Rotary Copperhead Mulching Blades. (similar to Gators, but the little fins go out rather than in) I've also got the wavy blades... they suck. If you gave me a set I'd still not use them. If you really want to a good mulch, get the these blades and Ballard X-Blade Dual Mulching Blade...

    Front ZT Tire Flat

I thought I read it already had a tube in it. How do you "tighten the valve stem"? It's attached to the tube.

    Front ZT Tire Flat

Slime and the products like it only work with a leak in the tread area. The fluid only rides on the inside on the tread area. With any sidewall, valve stem, etc issues slime does nothing. I can't _get_ to the leak.

    SD Blades Level

BS. Then why is it I can find 54" blades fine? 54" is more common then 52", and 60" is about the same as 54". I've got a whole tool box draw full of blades... so, what magic blade are you looking for? And yea, I'm not wowed by gator blades. I've got the G3's and G5's. I find Rotary Copperhead...

    SD Blades Level

Are you nuts? I've got the same exact mower and have about 6-10 different types of blades. Is your google broken?

    Craftsman Rider dies

Or what most do is remove it, cut off the tip and reinstall. Same thing... I had a JD that years ago I called the dealer for a price... IIRC they wanted something like $300 for it. Just - for - the - part.

    Craftsman Rider dies

I'd bet it's the fuel pump that took a crap... they do that. Also as others stated, coils go bad. They work 'till they get hot but it sounds like it's a fuel delivery issue. They are cheap... $10-30 online.

    Broken frame

What's the big deal with not wanting to weld it? Check with a few neighbors to see if they have a welder. Even a cheap little wire feed flux core would work fine for that. Honest, it's not that big a deal...

    Why no Hustler brand mowers?

    54" Hustler Raptor SD

Common issue with these mowers. Broken brackets are a big issue. There are updated brackets and cross members for these. However if you have access to a welder and a few pieces of metal you can make it so this never happens again w/o buying any kit from Hustler. One major help is adding a simple...

Poor cut with deck near higher setting

Has anyone else noticed the mowers don't cut very well the higher you raise the deck? SD 54" It seems to cut perfect from mid to lower but I'm trying to leave the grass high. It seems the deck isn't creating enough suction... seems like the deck isn't tall enough. Is this why the higher end...
