How do you lube a mower's axle drive?

Hi; it's me again, still asking questions about my Toro 22" walk-behind mower. My front drive axle gears lasted 7 years before they wore out. I've ordered a replacement transmission assembly, which is fairly expensive IMHO. I tried to lube the old axle gears with wheel bearing grease, but it...

Suggestions on Toro mower drive transmission?

I have a Toro 22" front-drive self-propelled walk-behind mower, model 20016. I recently replaced the original Tecumseh engine with a Kawasaki, which is somewhat heavier than the Tec motor was. Now differential in the front-drive has ground down its teeth. I have disassembled the front axle drive...

Suggestions on Kawasaki FJ180V "A"-suffix engines?

I bought one of these really cheap and it is running OK so far. I have heard (but don't know if it is true) that the "A"-suffix engine had breather problems, and tended to suck all its oil out the breather. Can anybody confirm this, or tell me if it's wrong? Are there any fixes available? Thanks!

I need to buy the cable for actuating the compression release on the Kawasaki, which is a heftier cable than one that only actuates an ignition kill switch...

Need a part number for a "run-stop" cable for a Kawasaki engine

I replaced the Tecumseh motor on my Toro walk-behind mower with a Kawasaki 6-hp. vertical shaft engine (No. FJ180V). I need to find a cable and lever to actuate the ignition kill/compression release on the Kawasaki engine. The kill switch cable for the old Tecumseh wasn't strong enough to...

How to make my new engine last longer

Hi; noob here. I have a 22' Toro rotary mower that originally had a Tecumseh 120LEV engine. Despite being properly maintained, the Tec engine failed after about 7 years of moderately hard use. It lost compression because it had metal transfer between its rings and cylinder. So I'm replacing it...
