that i dont know,tecumseh puts date code on the flywheel shroud,the only numbers on short block are on bottom of mounting flange,probably made before 2008,after that i think tecumseh changed hands a couple of times,any advice on breaking motor in,thanks doug

bought a nos sbv-2290 short block,have no idea old it is,should i replace the seals and o rings,any other suggestions on getting it ready for first start up,thanks , doug

thanks for the replys,carb was replaced 5 years ago,i should have taken that as a sign of things to come,the idea was to take it apart put a set of rings in to cure the smoke coming out of the exhaust and the push rod tube o rings that were leaking,cyl was pretty rough,figured i would have to...

carb has a plastic 90 deg fitting that fuel line connects to,went to take fuel line clamp off and it came off carb,i put it back on,but im wondering if it could come off while running,any advice,thanks doug
