    Hustler Raptor

Is there any new Raptor owners here? Looking at a 52" with the 23hp Kaw. I mow 4 yards as of now, just a side job, and thought about upgrading mowers. I think the Raptor is the best buy in its category. 1K less than the ex mark quest, and a bigger deck.

    Murray 36

Looking at getting an early 80's Murray 36. Interested in just the tractor, without the mower deck. Found one for $20 w/o an engine. From what I've read, these were equipped with a 11hp Briggs. I have a 5hp lawn boy 2-cycle engine I would like to mount on the mower. I believe it would work just...

    New to me 5241

Picked up this nice little 19" mower today. It's in really good shape for a '73 model. Took about 30min to drain the old stale gas, and clean the carb before she was running like a top. I'm impressed with these little machines each time I get one running again. And I have a guard dog in case...

Silver, gold, easy stride self propel wheels

While at a Home Depot today I noticed they carry replacement self propel rear wheels. They are Toro brand, but have the same metal gear pressed in as the Lawn Boy models I posted. So if anyone needs an inexpensive replacement and doesn't mind a different appearance these would work. I believe...

    R8237

I picked up another mower today. Late 70's R8237 self propelled F-engine. My work schedule lately doesn't allow much time to work on any mowers, but this one doesn't appear to need much. Thought I'd share a pic or two.

    Snapper push mower

I own nothing but lawn boys, but looking to add a snapper to the line up. Found an older, self propelled one with the Robin engine. Guy told me it was a 4 cycle. I hoped it was the 2. I've read good reviews of these mowers. I like the looks of the self propel system. It's looks heavy duty. Do...

    New 4571

Here's my newest mower. Just picked it up today. It's I very good shape. With some minor work, it should make a really nice mower. Don't see too many of this style so I had to have it.

    Exmark quest

Does anyone own one of these smaller zero-turn mowers. Are they reliable, and worth the price? I haven't look at any yet at a dealer so I have no idea what they cost.

    D-600 rebuild ?'s

Can the same needle bearing that's used in the armature plate, also replace the bronze bushing in the lower end? Can these bearings, and seals be matched up at a local auto parts store vs. buying an over priced LB part? I realize the rod bearings, and rings will need to be specific. Just...

    Lawn Boy 7264

Haven't been on here for awhile, so I thought I'd share my latest project. It's a 75-76 model 7264 with the D 600 engine. It's in very good shape, and clean for the age. The engine seems to have decent compression, and the coil checked good. I haven't done anything to it yet, but hopefully after...

    1013 Edger

Well, I decided to take apart, and paint my old Lawnboy sidewalk edger. For a rattle-can job it turned out pretty good. I have some before pics in another post. Here's a few after shots.

    7021 Bricktop

I picked up this little $10 gem today. It's a 1972 model with the D-433 engine. It's not in the best of shape, but is complete, down to the matching green wheels. Looks like I've got another project on my hands :)

    Ebay mowers & parts

I browse eBay pretty regular, and it amazes me how much some sellers ask for parts for these old Lawnboys. I've bought, and sold on eBay, but I try to price items to where the average person, like me, with a hobby of working on these things can afford. You have to be very careful when looking...

    7270

I picked up a '83 7270 with the blade clutch, a F engine for parts, and a complete bricktop engine recently. The 7270 was missing several parts, and controls for the clutch mechanism. I swapped engine plates/muffler with the parts engine, and converted it to a standard mower. The crankshaft on...

    10313 update

    Amsoil 2 cycle mix

Anyone using the amsoil saber synthetic 2 cycle mix in their lawn equipment? I use Lawn Boy mowers(32:1) and Sthil trimmer / blower(50:1). This product can be mixed 100:1, although I wouldn't personally run my equipment that lean. I have read that it does really well at 50:1 in Lawn Boys. I've...

    New 10301

I sold my Duraforce 10323 today. Got some cash and this great shape 1994 10301 V engine Silver Series in on trade. The guy wanted a more powerful engine. I'll go through this mower and give it a tune-up before putting it on the market. Just thought I'd share.

    8232 update

Started working on my 1974 8232 today. The carb was full of old 'gunk' so I gave it a good cleaning and blowing out. The reeds were really clean, as was the crankcase behind the reed plate. I cleaned the tank and fuel line out. Got it all back together and after a few pulls the old 2 stroke spit...

    Winter projects

Picked up these old Lawn Boys today. One is a 1974 model 8232 D series engine, and the other is a 1979 model 8238AE F series. Both are self propelled. The 8238AE has the electric start option but is missing the battery and starter motor :(. I have another 8232, but this ones in much better...

    6.5 duraforce

I have a 6.5 HP Duraforce powered mower that I have been going thru and tuning up. I've taken apart the carb and cleaned it, and changed the spark plug. After buying it ($20) I brought it home and started it, but it had a substantial sputter, and spit old gas out of the above deck muffler...

    '78 R7266 for sale

I've listed a really nice mower on eBay. I hate to part with it, but it's not getting used and I'm trying to thin the herd some. Sorry, but shipping these things is s task, and expensive so it's for local pick-up only. More pics are posted with the listing.

    S92

I got this early to mid '80s S92 rear engine mower with a 38" deck. Gave $200 plus the cost of a battery, and a carb re-build kit. I also have the bagger and owners manual that came with it. Had been in the same family since new. Hopefully it was a good investment.

Heres a few pics I took today after mowing with the old boys. These old machines make mowing fun. Especially when everyone else on the street uses modern, 4 cycle "throw away" mowers. Different is good :) nothing like the smell of 2-stroke smoke and fresh cut grass roasting on the muffler!

Gen 2 LB oil vs. old ashless mix

In the past I've used the old ashless Lawn Boy oil, but ACE didn't have any when I needed to pick some up the other day. The mower I'm using is a '76 model and seems to run fine on the LB Gen 2 oil/gas mix @ 32/1. Just curious if it'd perform any better on the old oil. Thanks.
