    Pesky squirrels!

I love the little blighters but they will dig up my lawn looking for their nuts! The worst of it is when they don't find the nuts they've buried and I get trees growing in places I'd rather not have trees!

Do you need a qualification to operate a chainsaw?

Is anyone allowed to operate a chainsaw or do you need a qualification? I ask because someone came to cut down our overgrown pine bush that had ended up about 15 feet tall and he didn't seem competent with his chainsaw at all. He ended up breaking it by hitting the brick wall around the bottom...

    Gravel cracked the window!

I just saw a man mowing the lawn across the road with a huge petrol mower and he kicked up some gravel that cracked the window. I hope the occupiers have insurance, or would insurance cover this type of accident?

    Going into business building lawnmowers

Is it feasible to start a business building and selling lawnmowers? Would you start by maybe buying old lawnmowers and refurbishing them or is there a better way? My son is really interested in machinery and I thought this might be a good way to start him up.

    My garden is dying!

I thought my ground cover was pretty hardy as it's an evergreen that smells like pine when it's cut (sorry don't know what it's called) but I've noticed that a lot of it has died. Do you think the wild strawberries taking over the ground have killed it?

    Giant spiders.

Why do they invade the house at this time of the year? It seems that every single morning when we wander through to the living room, there is an absolutely massive spider sitting on the wall or the ceiling. It's like the invasion of the giant spiders!

    Mowing when it's wet.

Is this to be recommended with an electric mower? I know my husband won't do it because of the dangers of electricity and water together but I regularly see my neighbours out there just after it's been raining.

    Leaf vacuum

I'm afraid the weather is turning cold and windy and the next thing we will have to contend with will be the piles of leaves as we are surrounded by trees. I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a leaf vacuum. Anyone got one of these?

    Plums on my lawn

My husband and I mowed the lawn yesterday and ended up mowing all the fallen plums into the grass. Do you think this will make the grass more lush next year?

    Hedgehog

I was amazed the other day to see a little hedgehog emerging from behind a pile of stones round the back of our porch steps. I appears to have made it's home there and I expect it will hibernate there too. I wonder if there is anything I can provide for it to make it more comfortable?
