How to remove oil plug on Craftsman 30in. 6speed riding mower

I need to change oil in this unit and I can't for the life of me determine how to remove the oil sump plug. It's the nut(?) at the bottom of the sump.

    Craftsman 30in. 420cc 6speed seat safety switch

Every forum thread I've read and the manual for this unit says you can get off the tractor without killing the engine by: 1. set parking brake on (depress) 2. set PTO (Power Takeoff Switch) off DOESN'T WORK! Anybody got any ideas? It is a pain to have to restart every time. I'm a big boy!

Spark plug replacement on Craftsman Lawn Tractor

Someone kindly sent me to the spark plug replacement site to check out a replacement for a TorchF6RTC plug. The suggested replacement seemed to be Champ. RN11YC. I ordered that from Kohler (thru Home Depot) and they sent me Champ. RC12YC. Will that work? Thanks, JD

I got this mower in August and it works quite well. Just mulching some leaves today instead of raking. I've been through the manual closely and cannot find a way to get off the mower without killing the engine. It's a pain to crank it up again. The manual seems to imply that it can be done...

Sears Craftsman 30 in. 420cc 6 spd question

My son just bought this mower for me and I like it. Some flaws - releasing brake pedal results in jerky starts til I get the touch right. One question. I cannot figure out how to get off the seat without killing the engine. I have followed the instructions carefully but I'm either missing...
