Any ideas what would make a JD 425 hard to start?

Welcome to the Forum...
The answer is ... a LOT of things... But "usually" temperamental starting issues involve the fuel or fuel system... :smile:KennyV

Hi, just thought I'd put my two cents in on this one. There is a way to eliminate spark and compression all at once, simple and easy. If you take the air filter off and very carefully put a little gas down in the carb throat, then try to start it, if it starts easily- then you know it's fuel delivery or carb, and be pretty confident in that. Hope this helps you.
