Right now we have an older porch on the front that I am pretty sure all bees now love, its like there is an invisible sign that says "Come chew on me". Does anyone know how to get rid of these buggers?

I think I read something about smoking them out and then covering the wood with some kind of oil...either peppermint (maybe that's for ants...) or a pungent pine oil...can't remember.

Re: Carpenter Bees

Tennis or badmitten racket - fly swatter will never hit them.
Fill the hole with caulking or expanding foam. They WILL
ruin your porch or deck if you don't get after them.

Call in the big guys for some help if nothing works. Have you tried spraying the porch to see if you can kill them. Have you found their hives? That is key- getting rid of that!
