Hello i have a craftsman 15.5hp riding mower and i just bought a 19.5hp craftsman riding mower. The 19.5 needs a new carburetor and i was wondering if the carburetor on the 15.5 will work on the 19.5 please help me and if it wont work how much will it cost for a carburetor rebuild kit?

Not likely the two will interchange hard to say from here whether the engines are even the same make. Do a Google search and you should be able to find a carb rebuild kit fro the 19.5 hp model with no problems but I have never priced one myself...guesstimate maybe $25 at most.

    Re: carburetor question

The model number and code are stamped on the engine fan shroud, near the head, on some models, the flywheel end on others. If yours has the cosmetic plastic, it may have a sticker in the same area.

I paid $35 for a complete rebuild kit 2 years ago for a 12.5 hp B&S, and the kit doesn't including the float (which ended up being the problem). Does however include the main jet, any and all needle valves, gaskets, o rings, bowl needle and seat that fits many different carbs (the same kit). Be prepared to have a lot of extra parts. (no, you didn't miss anything when you do)
