I believe you need the right torque sequence. also you might try making your own gasket with permatex

Its amazing how people always want to correct some one. These are almost the same people think that they are perfect. May be they need to go to church more often...

The engine will start and run for 5-10 seconds then stops or stop when taking off chock. sound like not enough fuel but i assure you its getting it

I had the same issue with my 17.5 briggs it turned out to be the moon key on the crank that holds the grear in place. the key would get stuck on the counter weight leakage. I trimed key back, reassembled fixed the problem

engine on bench no internal parts broken. if i reassemble with out oil slinger turns fine.

this on a rebuild i believe it the oil slink.. with out it turns fine

I had same problem. You have to take off the center nut to get to fly wheel. Must you their puller. $20.00 on amazon. Comes off 123.

Took engine apart don't see anything broken. Turns fine but when i put sub back on it . Turn it it locks up. Turn it the other way locks up on the 3/4??? I believe its it the counter Weight any Idea.
