    Battery Tender

Anybody use a Battery Tender? I can see I can get one for about 47 bucks or so. I wouldn't mind having one for my seldom driven truck to just leave on, and I can see it being a good idea for the tractor also, though taking the damn battery out for the winter would have probably been...

    Engine Oil

I'm thinking about going synthetic with my LA135. Any particular brands you fellas recommend for JD products? Or possibly, any you recommend I steer clear of? It won't need to be changed for a while, yet, I just want to be prepared.

    Finally got a rider

Ran across this a few miles from my house. Price was agreeable, so I naturally offered him less. We eventually agreed and shook on the deal. He delivered it today and I cut grass for the first time without a weed whip and six hours work. Cutting grass just got a lot more fun.

    YT3000 or YT4000

I've pretty much decided on one of these, but what I want to know is if the YT4000 is worth the extra 300 bucks. As I see it, it offers a V-twin with better power, an hour meter, cruise control and probably the best feature, pedal operated rather than fender. Sounds good to me, but then I've...

    Used D110

I'm about to pull the trigger on a lightly used D110 for 1K. I have a mostly flat area of 1.3 acres, only about half an acre will need cutting. Actually, been doing it with a weed whacker for the last few years, but now that I'm here for keeps, I'll be planting a lot more real grass. Been...

    Tiny Visitor

Well, I'm still slowly trying to get my new place in shape, so last week I started pulling the prairie grass out of my Hostas, Lillies and wildflowers that line the house. In a clump of grass, I pulled this little guy out. Quite lovely, actually. I didn't want him injured or worse, when I was...

    Joke

God said: "Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought...

    Stinging Nettles

Anybody have them besides me? These things are a genuine pain in the rear. Can't seem to do anything outside without getting stung at least once, and since they excrete acid, the irritation lasts a while. A month or so ago I put on some leather gloves and pulled out a shopping bag full. Damn...
