Does anyone have affiliates promoting their website/product?

I'm considering setting up an affiliate program on my website. How would you go about finding affiliates once my website is set up for them? The affiliate services I have looked into are rather expensive for a start-up company. Would I just be wasting my time setting it up? Thanks
