While cutting grass, it quit again. I removed the fuel line at the carb. to see if there was fuel....yes, but not sure if it has the correct volume. After reconnecting the hose it started and ran fine. I will eliminate the filter to diagnose further.It may very well be the filter even though it...

No fuel pump, not sure on the brand of filter, it is clear in color (Arnold brand from Tractor Supply)

I have a Craftsman riding mower #917287080 with a B&S 20 hp 31P977 0575E engine. This thing randomly quits as if it is running out of fuel. I have spark, I had replaced the magneto, plug ,cleaned the fuel tank, checked the vent, new fuel lines, filter,clipped the plunger end off the solenoid...

Truly it doesn't matter what "number" you are, as we all can learn from each other no matter what it is. I love learning different ways of doing things. Doing a job correctly is what matters.

The last two years I have replaced my mower deck belt, and this is year 3. I have had this lawn tractor for about 9 years with the original belt lasting about 6 years. I'm tired buying cheaply made belts. What am I to look for in a quality belt?

Does any one have, or have made a pedal extender for their riding mower? I would like to fabricate one so my grandson can operate my lawn tractor I use for hauling my firewood etc. NO, he will NOT be mowing grass due to safety reasons. The riding lawn mower has no deck.

Are there any mower oil filters that cross over to automotive filter? I would think the thread pitch would be different. I get my oil filters (Hastings) for my vehicles at just under $3 and a B&S filter is $10-$12.:thumbdown:

Scratching my noggin trying to figure out this problem. As I am cutting grass for no reason my mower quits and will not start until it cools down. Yes it has spark, fuel, and all filters are new. The plug is good because I checked the spark with it. What am I missing? Should be simple...
