    Lawn Boy 8235 question

Okay, thanks for the valuable info. I hit it with starting fluid and even with spark she did not fire. Just wanted to get some info before I put any time into her.

    Lawn Boy 8235 question

Hi, guys, I picked up an old Lawn Boy 8235 two stroke mower at an auction for 50 cents. She is in nice cosmetic condition but the compression seems low, about 65 psi. My question is will she run or is the compression too low. Thanks : )

    Lawn Boy 8237 coil help

Update. I cleaned the carb and air filter, new spark plug. Wired in the on-off switch. Buttoned her all up, hit her with one more shot of starting fluid ( she sounds great!!) . All ready to put some gas in her and enjoy the fruits of my labor. All in I am at about 30 bucks invested, we will see...

Will an early 80's Briggs run with 50 psi?

I got a chuckle at the 5lbs remark, thanks. Yea I guess if it isn't broken don't fix it. Looking forward to some weather where I can get her fired up, I may run a couple of tanks of sea foam through her and take it from there. cheers!!!

Will an early 80's Briggs run with 50 psi?

When I can get her outside (mower is currently in my basement) I will see if she runs on gas. I got her at an auction and I don't have a garage to work in so I brought it in my basement for something to tinker on. She has good spark and runs on either but being in my basement I don't want to...

    Lawn Boy 8237 coil help

I ordered this one https://poweredbymoyer.com/products/laser-98202-ignition-coil-fits-lawn-boy-683215-682702-683080-f-series-1983-up As I believe the difference is with working being grounded or being opened. That will be easy to deal with. Will keep ya posted on my results. Thanks...

    Lawn Boy 8237 coil help

Ok, looks like I have two options here. Not knowing the history of this machine the coil in her may not be the correct part (who knows who was monkeying around here before I got her) and I can get the 681578 witch parts tree says is the correct part or I can get the 98202 witch looks like a...

    Lawn Boy 8237 coil help

This looks similar to my coil, mine is white in color. From what I have read some of these coils have to be grounded to run and others have to be open to run. If that's the only difference then all I have to do is flip the wires on the on and off switch. I am fine with that. I am going to keep...

    Lawn Boy 8237 coil help

After looking at the diagram again, it is showing 681578 as the coil for my mower. Not sure what the difference is between the 681578 and the 681410 but I am willing to give it a shot.
